Hong Kong,21 Mar 2018
Leading international health and care group intends to set high standards of health and care for local customers accessing its first integrated medical centre in China.
[21 March 2018, Guangzhou] Bupa, an international leading health and care group, today announced the offering of world class healthcare services to local consumers at its first integrated medical centre in China. Bupa’s wholly owned medical centre is located on the 3rd floor of GT Land Autumn Plaza within the Central Business District in Tianhe, Guangzhou.
Introducing private capital and growing high-end healthcare services have become two integral parts in the healthcare industry’s future development in Guangdong. The Health and Family Planning Commission of Guangdong Province, the Hong Kong Food and Health Bureau and the Health Bureau of Macau signed a framework agreement on co-operation among the three places on hygiene and health at the first Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Hygiene and Health Cooperation Conference on 9 January 2018. According to the agreement, the Guangdong Government will encourage the investment from Hong Kong and Macao in Guangdong’s high-end healthcare services sector. Related policies and supporting administrative measures will be implemented to facilitate Hong Kong and Macao healthcare providers’ establishment of medical institutions in Guangdong.
Bupa's investment in the integrated medical centre was conducted via Quality HealthCare Medical Services Ltd., Bupa's health provision subsidiary in Hong Kong, which was facilitated by the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement (CEPA) between Hong Kong and China.
