Healthy Cities
Healthy Cities
Healthy Cities is Bupa’s global initiative promoting physical wellbeing and planetary health, with a mission to make the world’s cities healthier places to live. As most of the world now lives in urban areas — and as climate change increasingly impacts city communities — Healthy Cities focuses on helping people live healthier lives while supporting the environments around them.
Launched in Spain in 2015, Healthy Cities has grown into a global movement encouraging people to adopt healthier and more sustainable lifestyles. Across the programme, we support communities through health activities, nature restoration projects and environmental initiatives that create greener, more resilient urban spaces.
In 2025, Healthy Cities reached a major global milestone — supporting one million people across 24 countries. This reflects our commitment to improving both individual wellbeing and the health of the places where people live, work and play.
As Healthy Cities continues to expand, we remain focused on empowering people to take charge of their health, raising awareness of the connection between wellbeing and the environment, and helping cities become healthier, greener places for everyone.
